Dr. Drake Patrick Mirembe, holds a PhD from the University of Gronigen, The Netherlands in information system security. Dr. Drake has worked both in the industry and academia over the last 18 years. He served as the founding Manager, of the Microsoft Innovation Center-Uganda which is hosted at, the College of Computing and Information Scinces, Makerere University. Formerly, he was also the founding Head of the Centre for Innovations and Proffessional Skills Development (CiPSD) at Makerere University (www.cis.mak.ac.ug ). In 2013 Founded the Center for Innovation and Business Incubation, at Uganda Technology and Management University (www.cibi.utamu.ac.ug ).
Dr. Drake has been at the forefront of ICT professional skills and innovation development in uganda for the last 18 years, serving in various capacities as a trainer, community projects manger, mentor, software developer among others. Today, he works with Makerere University as a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Netwoks and Head of the Engaged Scholars Academic Network (ESCANET) www.escanet.org. Dr. Drake is an active researcher in the field of ICT for Development, ICT4Agric, Learning Technologies, health information systems, digital security, secure integration of ICTs, and ICT innovation and Incubation.
